My father turned 72 yesterday and he was in good spirits when I called to wish him happy birthday. He said when you factor 72, you get five variables: 2, 2, 2, 3 and 3. There are only three ages in a person's life which can be factored by five variables, he added. They are 32, 48 and 72. I jokingly told my father, "Well, I guess there is never a reason to not celebrate."
He replied, "Yes. This is going to be a great year."
I told him I'll get to celebrate my first five-variable age next year. He paused, then said, "Yeah...that's right!"
At least I'm still young enough to anticipate some firsts.
